About Us

Caring for Our Port Stephens Youth (COPSY) is a community group of volunteers whose purpose is to ensure the best possible independent youth health & wellbeing service to satisfy the needs of all young people who are at risk in Port Stephens. It is not affiliated to any religious or other organisation.

March 2019, saw COPSY formally launch jupiter; its free counselling service for Port Stephens youth aged 12 – 21 years at the Tomaree Library & Community Centre.

March 2021 saw the service expanded to Tanilba Bay – “Tilli Place” is a joint project with the Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre – on the Tilligerry Peninsula.

March 2022 saw a third site opened in Raymond Terrace.

The jupiter service creates “A Space To Talk”. Our highly qualified counsellors and psychologists, work alongside young people to build skills to manage issues such as grief, loss, anger, self esteem, body image concerns, exam stress, anxiety, depression, self harm and suicidal thoughts.

COPSY, through our counselling arm, jupiter, helps our youth understand and manage difficult issues in their lives.

We do this by providing personalised counselling and early intervention health and well-being workshops.

We are focused on supporting young people to manage challenges in the long term, we are not a crisis centre. For urgent help, contact
