COPSY’s Jupiter Investment Club
COPSY provides early intervention counselling and support to young people facing mental health challenges through its service “jupiter – a space to talk”, on the Tomaree and Tilligerry Peninsulas and will soon begin to offer counselling in Raymond Terrace. This will bring us closer to our vision of providing mental health support to all young people who need it in Port Stephens.
Despite increasing government attention to youth mental health in the regions, there is no recurrent State or Federal funding support for locally accessible services in Port Stephens. We have been fortunate to have had the support of a number of key sponsors, particularly the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, Port Stephens Council, the NSW Mental Health Branch and generous businesses and individuals such as the Sisters of Charity, Shoal Bay Country Club, Bannisters, Coca Cola, Headjam Creative Agency and the Port Stephens Examiner, as well as a number of philanthropic individuals who have shown their caring and commitment to the youth in Port Stephens through their donations.
Sustaining our service, especially to enable it to grow to help those in need in Raymond Terrace and later Medowie, is a constant struggle. Please act now to help make a difference! Donations (all those over $2 are fully tax deductible) are a direct contribution to the health and wellbeing of our community.
We particularly recognize and give special thanks to our major supporters. Categories of our major supporters are:
Our Friends – those who give or commit a total of $1,000-3,999 during a two-year period or $8,000 over a lifetime. Benefits include invitations to certain events, special quarterly reports on jupiter’s activities and acknowledgement (if you wish) on our website. Your investment in the youth of Port Stephens has an impressive return: a tax-deductible donation of $1,000 will provide for the mental health support needed by one young person.
Our Supporters – those who give or commit a total of $4,000-9,999 during a two-year period or $15,000 over a lifetime. Benefits, in addition to those of our Friends, include annual invitations to a hosted lunch or dinner, a certificate of appreciation and acknowledgement (if you wish) in the Annual Report. Remember, a tax-deductible donation of $4,000 will provide for the mental health support needed by four young people.
Our Patrons – those who give or commit a total of $10,000-19,999 during a two-year period or $30,000 over a lifetime. Benefits, in addition to those of our Supporters, include biannual invitations to a hosted lunch or dinner with an inspirational guest speaker, the option of directing part of your donation to a particular jupiter centre and a plaque of appreciation. Your tax-deductible donation of $10,000 will provide for the mental health support needed by ten young people.
Our Visionary Benefactors – those who give or commit a total of $20,000 or more during a two-year period or $50,000 over a lifetime. Benefits, in addition to those of our Patrons, include being listed on an Honour Board plaque at each jupiter centre (if you wish) and inclusion of your logo or brand on our promotional materials. The Return on Investment is extraordinary: your $20,000 tax-deductible donation will ensure the mental health support needed by twenty young people.
Remember, each thousand dollars donated will provide for the support needed by one young person in Port Stephens to develop new coping mechanisms and social skills, to develop strategies to manage their emotions and communicate their feelings, and to navigate life with an improved sense of connectedness and mental health. This in turn improves the health, employability and overall well-being of their family.
Please, act now to secure a better future for the young people of Port Stephens.
