COPSY needs your support and values your contribution. As a registered charity, it is reliant on donations, grants, and fundraising events to provide easily-accessed, confidential counselling for young people at risk through jupiter – “a space to talk”. Your donation is important to us and will be directed toward meeting the core operational costs of the counselling service.
You can make a donation by either:
- By sending a cheque to COPSY at PO Box 384, Salamander Bay NSW 2317, or
- By direct deposit to the COPSY at Newcastle Permanent, BSB 650 300, A/C No 521 727 600, or
- By using the donate button below using your debit or credit card. You will be given the option of making a one-off, or regular donation.
Note that all donations over $2 are fully tax-deductible. To get your receipt for tax purposes, make sure you provide your email or postal address when you make your donation.

Caring for Our Port Stephens Youth (COPSY) Inc. now invites new members. For $20 pa you can become part of a major innovation in youth counselling that will be operating early next year. As a member, you will:
- Be entitled to vote and stand for office at the AGM (held every December)
- Receive quarterly updates on progress
- Be able to offer sponsorship

We are so amazed at how far COPSY has come.
Our first major milestone was the completion of the needs’ analysis report in December 2016; which was funded by our local Primary Health Network and the Port Stephens Council. The report was discussed in public meetings and smaller steering group meetings. These led to making the establishment of a local service a priority.
The second milestone was finding a site in the Salamander Bay Library Community Complex. This is a very good location, next to two local high schools. Port Stephens Council has been very supportive with rental assistance.
Our third milestone was obtaining a major grant in 2018 from the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation to equip and refurbish the two rooms. The jupiter counselling service started formally in March 2019.
